The survival knife with a fixed blade BK18BK Becker Harpoon was created as a result of cooperation between KA-BAR Knives, Inc. and knifemaker Ethan Becker, an outspoken outdoor enthusiast and founder of Becker Knife and Tool Corporation, from whom survival and tactical knives have no secrets.
The Harpoon knife is the perfect companion for trips to the forest, camping and hunting: the 4.5 mm thick blade and the full-tang construction ensure that it can withstand many difficult tasks. The blade is made of one piece of high-carbon 1095 Cro-Van steel with a hardness of 56-58 HRC, especially dedicated to knives intended for heavier outdoor works. It is additionally covered with a matte protective layer in black color, which protects it against glare and corrosion.
The handle with the shape known from other Becker series knives is made of the patented, virtually indestructible Ultramid® material by BASF in the black color. Before the hand slips onto the blade, it is secured by the cross-shaped blade in its lower part. The hole at the end of the grip allows for easy installation of a safety lanyard. The knife has handle in accordance with the Short Becker Knives standard, through to which we can install custom Ka-Bar BK16HNDL handles made of Micarta material in the knife.
Together with the BK18BK knife, we get a practical sheath in a black color, made of wear-resistant, extreme temperatures and moisture Celcon® material. The knife is pressed in, and is additionally protected against falling out by a strap closed with a steel latch. A solid nylon strap allows you to carry the knife on even very wide tactical belts (to about 8 cm). After unscrewing the two Allen screws, we have the ability to change the position of the assembly side of the scabbard on the belt.
